The Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) has elected a new Board of Directors at its recent Annual General Meeting in Toronto. The new Board will be led by returning President, Lois Cormack, who is the President of Specialty Care Inc. in Vaughan, Ontario.

Ms. Cormack says, “These are extremely important times for the long term care sector which faces both a changing economic and business environment as well as a changing regulatory environment. I am delighted to be part of such a strong Board working on behalf of our members, as we continue to build public confidence in both long term care and help to shape public policy about this critical sector.”

The OLTCA represents the charitable, municipal, not-for-profit and private operators of 428 long term care homes, which provide care to 50,000 Ontario residents. Organizations who are members of the OLTCA provide employment to around 50,000 people in large and small communities across Ontario.

“OLTCA is committed to continuous quality improvement and innovation to better serve residents, many with increasingly complex care needs,” says Christine Bisanz, who is the CEO of OLTCA. “Our members are eager to play a larger role as a partner in an integrated health system – one that delivers both quality of care and quality of life that Ontario’s seniors living in long term care so rightly serve,” she added.
